Yesterday we delivered the first health training workshop to TY students attending 'Health Squad' classes in Coláiste Íosagáin. The students were surprised at how screen time can impact sleep. Blue light from screens can disrupt our sleep so it is recommended to turn on 'night mode' on phones in the evening and to avoid looking at screens at least 1 hour before bed.
Sleep is important for:
- growth, development & repair
- learning, memory & concentration
- reducing the risk of injury
- immune health
- increased control of emotions (we can become angry, stressed and irritable more easily if we get poor sleep)
Huge thanks to Laois Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland for funding these training workshops as part of Laois Transformation.
