Vitamin D recommendations for Older Adults

People aged 65 and older are advised to take a 15 microgram vitamin D supplement every day to support bone and muscle health. You can purchase vitamin D supplements in pharmacies and supermarkets.

Aim to include regular intakes of natural sources of vitamin D, such as oily fish, eggs, meats and vitamin D fortified products. 

Fortified means that nutrients are added to foods/drinks for example milk, bread and breakfast cereals are sometimes fortified with vitamin D - check the label!
