Walking is free, easy, low risk and you can fit it into your everyday routine. It uses body fat for fuel.
The key messages on physical activity are:
- some is better than none.
- start with short bouts of 10 minutes and build up to 30-60 minutes per day.
- the more you do the more benefits you get.
